At Fluidkraft, we’re all about precision, power, and performance – qualities that we saw all weekend long at the Allgate Motorsport Race at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP). As proud sponsors of Allgate Motorsport, we were thrilled to support the team as they navigated the highs and lows of an action-packed weekend on the track. If you didn’t get a chance to head down, here’s a quick rundown of the weekend.
Day 1: A Test of Resilience
The weekend had a bumpy start when the team discovered a hairline fracture on the rear hub, causing diff oil to leak onto the rear tyre. With some quick thinking and the help of a stick welder, the issue was fixed promptly. Despite this, the first race wasn’t without its challenges. A gearbox issue led to the loss of 3rd and 4th gears. Even so, the team remained undeterred, planning to swap out the gearbox overnight and come back stronger for the remaining races.
Day 2: Fighting Spirit
Day 2 was all about perseverance. After an early morning gearbox swap, Race 2 saw a rough start when the car stalled. This caused the team to fall 8 seconds behind the pack. Even so, the team persevered and kept on pushing. The team worked hard, catching up to the rear of the field and making crucial passes to finish 17th.
Race 3 presented similar challenges, with another stall delaying the start by 9 seconds. Despite this, the team fought hard, making their way up to 17th place. Towards the end of the race, a last-corner contact and a burst power steering hose dropped them to 18th. The team later identified the issue as a clutch pickup point problem, which they quickly addressed.
Day 3: A Strong Finish
Armed with new knowledge of the clutch issue, the team approached Race 4 with a cautious but determined strategy. Though they initially dropped to 22nd place, the team didn’t drop their spirits. By pushing the car to its limits, they climbed up to P16 and recorded their fastest lap of the weekend – a blistering 1:47.8. This final race highlighted the true potential and pace of the car. This result is a testament to the team’s hard work and Fluidkraft’s unwavering support.
Celebrating Success and Looking Ahead
The Allgate Motorsport team showed incredible resilience and potential throughout the weekend and Fluidkraft are proud to have been part of their journey. With no previous laps or setup time in the past 12 months, the team’s performance at SMSP was nothing short of inspiring.
